Immediately from the opening of this song, I envisioned this as the title track to the opening sequence of my life movie. It’s also the perfect Sunday brunch tune. (Or, rather, the perfect Sunday-in-bed-while-debating-moving-for-brunch tune. You know how those Sundays go.) Ohashi Trio — a misleadingly-named one-man operation — pretty much fits the bill for my musician wishlist, which sounds like an amalgam of all my favorite genres: Pleasing pop sensibilities with a jazz/blues influence. Thoughtful, simple arrangements associated with singer/songwriter types — but whimsical enough that it doesn’t take itself so seriously. Plug it in.
